What a great year of sports it has been so far for our Knockouts Elite Alumni!
Alyssa Heitz is crushing it at Pfeiffer University. Heitz is batting a solid .385 on the year and has come up big for the Falcons with a couple game ending hits in recent weeks!
Courtney Fink has proved to be an impact in the lineup for Greensboro College. First-baseman by default, Fink has come up big with stellar defensive play as an outfielder for the Pride. Courtney looks to extend her late March hot streak at the plate as the season comes to an end.
Emily Cole decided to hang up her softball cleats in exchange for some court time. Cole is loving the volleyball life at Belmont Abbey College. Last fall she saw action in 12 matches as her team finished first in their division and came up one match short of an NCAA Tourney bid. Currently, Emily is working hard in off-season workouts in hopes of earning herself more playing time next fall.
The UNC coaching staff is pretty happy with their new team member Hannah George, to say the least. As a freshman, ‘G’ has provided some much needed support for the team. With 3 home runs at the plate and a 7-4 record in the circle, she has provided a much needed spark for the Tarheels. Need I mention, 3 of the 4 losses were 1-run ballgames!
Katey Griswold has seen a great deal of time with the Guilford College JV squad. That wasn’t enough for Katey though, as she decided to make a statement in her first Varsity appearance last week! With her team down 7-2 in the second inning, Katey entered the game and guided them to a 10-9 victory, earning her first collegiate W in the circle!
Down in Spartanburg, Lauren Phillips had quite the fall for USC Upstate! Like Emily Cole, Lauren decided to follow her dreams of playing volleyball at the collegiate level. As a freshman, Lauren made a big splash by earning playing time in almost 80% of the Spartans games, all while making the Dean's List!
After the off-season transfer from East Tennessee State University, Madison Webb is now settling in at North Carolina Central University. Webb began seeing her hard work pay off with more field time in mid to late March. She looks to continue that trend down the stretch.
McKenzie Kimrey and the NC State club softball team swept their series with UNCC this weekend. This makes them the winningest program in the country this year as they head into post-season play ranked #9 in the country.
Paysia Reed is recovering well from a torn ACL. The staff at UNCC is working with her daily and we can’t wait to see her back on the field!!!
Summer Alexander is weathering the cold weather for all of us up at Brevard College. Summer is seeing some time in the pitcher’s circle this season and is continuing to work hard as the season progresses!
